Actually I wrote this story in 2003. But not satisfied with myself. And added last paragraphs in 2008 which enriched the story. When I asked My friend and colleague, Mr.Yaseen to read the story, he told me to simplify some more, so that a common reader can understand. That is how the 3rd para from the last came into the story. Of course I changed the narration accordingly.
My first title to the story was 'Maa Venkatrao Aathmahatya'. When my friendly colleague Mr.Yakub heard this, he told me it is sounding like a farmer's suicidal story, which I didn't want. So I changed it to Marana Lekhalu.
I thank Mr. Hampi who has drawn a wonderful illustration.

This is kranthi(Remember - Divakar EJS batchmate). I could not understand what is the theme of the story. what u want to convey to the readers. Of course u mentioned one point that we decide the character of our acquaintances by the situations and experiences we faced. Here the person failed to understand why venkat committed to suicide. By reading the 4 letter what he (readeres also) can not understand. How those letters are helpful to elevate the story. May be i don't have the knowledge to understand such a dept story. Just i am sharing my views with you.

The end lines are the theme of the story. Both Vaancha and Naithikatha, Himsa and Shaanti are within us.
We can love a person and we can hate him/her at the same time. Dont u do? Dont u feel it is possible?
Venkat is not at all interested in marital relation(read sex) with his wife( Establishes in his poem). he didn't feel her. he didn't feel to touch her. But he is morally bounded not to have a relation with another woman, who comes in the 4th letter.
Actually he can divorce his wife and can live as he wishes. but Ideologically he is against divorce, since he believes single parenting is not at all god for the children.
These many contrasts suffered him hence he is no more. Read one more time if possible.

i recently found your blog thats why i am commenting on this story lately. when i read this story first time in funday it haunted me for few days....i again read and experiencing the same....wonderfull story especially the last words but without that i feel the story might be much more interesting.....!
